I've been to Wagamama a couple of times and each time my thoughts on it are always the same. This year I figured I will write my thoughts on the place.
Where to begin.......
The Layout: not very friendly nor welcoming! Rows of tables and chairs....what is this? Hogwarts?? How can one go for a family meal here when the layout is barely "comforting" and you have to yell your conversations for the person at the end to hear you!
The Decor: plain yet simple. Very bold colours, right ambience for eating though. With the kitchen being right next to the seating area, which is seperated by a semi wall, the aroma of the food lingers in the air which can make a person rather hungry! Even more so if they were hungry to begin with!
The Food: actually quite nice, served at a reasonable timing, presented nicely and you do get a feel of East Asian with whatever dish you choose.
The Price: reasonable and affordable. In range with competitor prices such as Tampopo. Reasonable to me is anything within the £10 range per dish...anything more then it had better be a large order! Or cooked with the finest exquisite ingredients!
The Quantity: you get what you pay for! The dishes are fairly large, definitely fulfilling and without a doubt if you was hungry beforehand you will definitely be full afterwards.
The Service: though very friendly, welcoming and polite....I would have to say their timing is not at all great! They either come too early to ask for your order or they come too late to ask for your order. With large amounts of orders they can easily forget one order (which they have done everytime I have gone there) they handle complaints well which I feel is very good of them.
I had ordered one of their new dishes called Chu Chee Curry and I would have to say it did not fail! It was sweet and not so much sour but it had a balancing taste.
All in all I would say Wagamama is a good place to eat, but not for a large group of people.
